Renowned educationist and Principal Tameer-e-Nau Residential College Fazal-e-Haq Mir on Sunday safely escaped an attempt on his life by unidentified armed assailants here on Eastern Bypass Road in the jurisdiction of Satellite Town police station. According to the police, unidentified armed assailants attempted to target Professor Fazal-e-Haq Mir as he left the college premises in his staff car.

He escaped the attack unhurt as his driver managed to get the car back to the college.

Firing, however, left a vendor Mohammad Nabi injured who was rushed to nearby hospital. The news of attack on Professor Mir instantly spread across the city creating panic among the citizens. Law enforcement agencies officials reached the site soon after incident and cordoned off the area.
